Aether used to be a world traveler with his sister, Lumine, until the day of his unfortunate encounter with the unknown Goddess on Teyvat. Deprived of his powers, the surviving brother begins his journey to find his lost sister. Paimon met Aether when he fished her out of a lake where he mentions that she would have drowned if he hadn't pulled her out.
