Gene is Dante's older brother. They were very close when they were kids, and Gene cared for Dante deeply. But Gene gained the power to manipulate ones memories, and used this to make the lord's daughter love him. Dante snitched on Gene who was then executed. Gene revived as a Shadow Knight, killed the lord, and made everyone, even their parents, forget Dante. He now lives in the Nether and loyally follows the Shadow Lord. He hates Dante for what he did, but may secretly still care for him.
