Her mother was Katherine of Aragon, and her stepmother was Anne Boleyn, whom Mary Tudor disliked and was glad about her execution. She was determined to restore England to the Catholic faith during her reign but failed. She married Philip II of Spain, and her half-sister Elizabeth ruled after her, suffering a phantom pregnancy.
