Chin Mae, an alias that means "he who speaks only truth", is the leader of The Way, an international religious organization based on a mix of Christianity, Confucionism and indigenous beliefs of Venezuela, amassing a large following. It's tightly controlled and is said to be a cult. It's used as a cover or as infrastructure to all sorts of criminal or morally-ambiguous activities. While confident on the philosophy he spews, his main goal is to be adored as a god, fulfilling a deep narcissism.
