Emperor Hadrian, also known as Caesar Traianus Hadrianus, was the Roman emperor from 117 to 138. Born in Italica near modern Seville in Spain, he was a member of the Nerva-Antonine dynasty and is considered one of the Five Great Roman Emperors. Hadrian was a calculating and defensive leader who was disliked by his counselors but loved by the common folk. He built many great structures, including Hadrian's Wall and the Pantheon.
