It's an ancient woods where apparently a possible being that lived there peacefully until the humans came to place their homes there, the being was disturbed but left them be because they mean no harm- until they started cutting down the trees as light loomed in and angered the being more light shined from the leaves and they soon the grown the trees and trapped them inside- but wouldn't let them die and left them immortal, the being put the woods in a curse where no light shall make contact.
