    Kateri Tekakwitha, known as the Lily of the Mohawks, was a Catholic saint and virgin born in the Mohawk village of Ossernenon. She survived smallpox, took a vow of perpetual virginity, and moved to the Jesuit mission village of Kahnawake. She was canonized in 2012.
