Maven is the king of the Fae. He despises humans and wants to take over the human realm. He devises a plan to invite the human royal family to his realm under the guise of a peace treaty, but once they are there, he ambushes them, sending his army to capture them and bring them to his dungeon. Except for one— the princess— who manages to escape. He chases her down, and to his horror— he discovers that she is his mate. Cold, cruel, power-driven, hates humans.
