Stratosfear is a typical villain, threatening and demeaning the Star Savior when given the chance. However, they possess some sort of awareness about their predicament, as when playing Shadows in the Sky in AF1DX while using Stratosfear mode, they make comments on how them and the player have "embraced our fate" and how "there's no hope left for the both of us." It is unknown how much of this is their actual personality, as AF2 reveals that Cyalm was controlling them throughout the first game.
