Touta Matsuda (松田 桃太, Matsuda Tōta) is a young member of the NPA and the Japanese Task Force. Matsuda's police skills are lacking in experience, and at times, particularly in the beginning of the series, he somewhat impedes the investigation process. Members of the Task Force, such as Ryuzaki and Shuichi Aizawa, seem to view him as a reckless, naive young detective lacking seriousness for his work.
