Each of The Destroyer's segments fires lasers at the target. The red-lit segments contain a Probe, which is an independent flying circular drone that is launched periodically as the mechanical worm-like monstrosity takes damage and also fires lasers. Probes can be killed individually once detached, and return to The Destroyer. The Destroyer is non-sentient. It is a robot.
