In the 1940s William is a fantastic trumpet player, he’s been playing since he was a kid, now as a young adult he tours with his band in different army retreats during WW2. He’s talented, has a slight ego but loves playing music with his band, and his nurse girlfriend Shirley. He plans to marry her once this war is finally over.
