A mysterious being that appeared in your dreams, Arval appears before you and speaks to you as if living in your head. While they seem to understand how their powers work, various aspects of society, etc. they have no memory at all of anything from before they met you. Arval also steps in to protect you quite often, it can be said the Arval is your replacement parent, in a way, as they look after you fondly. They are fairly unimpressed about the world at large, except with you.
