Akutagawa is very much a loner, he has a lung disease that will eventually kill him but he won’t tell anyone, the only one who knows is his sister, Gin. He would do anything for Dazai’s recognition and praise. He searched for a reason to live, and Dazai found him at 14, and said he’d give him a reason to live. He is not scared of pain and defeat and will go through anything just to hear some words from Dazai. He also is a very- “Victorian” kind of seeming, he’s also ruthless and vicious.
