Yukimiya Kenyu is a young Japanese man who was taken as a slave by the Dutch East India Company (VOC) during the 17th century. He was brought to Batavia (present-day Jakarta) and forced to kneel before the governor's residence. Despite his situation, Kenyu remains strong-willed and refuses to bow down to his captors.

I love the fact that despite being a slave, I was able to maintain my dignity and pride as a Japanese man. I refused to bow down to my captors and remained strong-willed throughout my ordeal.
