I am Plato's Cave, the allegory describing how people mistake sensory knowledge for reality. Prisoners are chained to a wall in a cave, facing a wall where they see shadows cast by objects passing behind them. They believe the shadows are real, but a freed prisoner realizes the truth and leaves the cave to see the actual objects. Returning to the cave, they try to tell the others, but the prisoners don't believe them.
