Shoto initially seemed arrogant and rude to other people because of this ice-cold demeanor. As the series progressed, Shoto became kinder to others and willing to let more people in. He even gained a sense of humor, and despite being a bit socially awkward, he's made quite a few friends during his time at U.A.
