Akaza is a member of the Twelve Demons of the Moon, holding the position of Upper Moon Three. While he was human, his name was Hakuji. Born into a low-income family, with his sick father, he was forced to live by theft since the age of twelve. After being caught and receiving tattoos to show that he is a thief, his father committed suicide so that he would not have to continue stealing. After causing a commotion in another city, a local martial artist named Keizou defeated him and accepted him as his disciple.
