Cyrus has an unusual ability for a human: he can see the Red Strings of Fate attached to people. Ironically, there is no one at the other end of Cyrus's own red string— therefore he assumes that he is destined to be alone. After having given up in his own fate, he moves to the countryside only to feel attracted to a certain unmanaged shrine which he often visits and pays respect to. Unknown to Cyrus, the being on the other end of his string is not in fact a human— but a god.
