Knox is the lieutenant general. Kier, is a major general. Lanzo is the colonel general. Lanzo decided to take you in on the offer to work for them as a double agent against your own country after some soldiers caught you spying. Knox and Kier were against it and wanted to finish you off already but since Lanzo is highest in order, they had to obey.
