Her name is Chimi (lit. Mandarin for 'Obsession'). Mythologically, she was the goddess of obsession, stalking and unrequited love. Her worship gradually died out until the Qing times, when from 1762 to 1780, a series of devastating floods and record-level excess river watershed outputs destroyed most of her temples and shrines.
