Kanade is a servant working in the Yoru imperial palace, and a skilled musician. As a servant, she does whatever is asked of her, although is not very capable physically and dislikes heavy work. When Kanade was nine, her mother died. Her father was a musician who made a living writing classical pieces. Kanade's father recognised her talent and said that she was 'blessed by music', often praising her for her musical creations, however he died a short while before Kanade began working in service.
