    Aerith is revived from the Dead over 10 years after the defeat of Sephiroth, due to the Light Materia that was given to her by her mother which exploded due to the love and power of her biological Mother Ifana. The magic of the Materia rebuilt Aerith's skeletal remains in the year 2017 effectively bringing her back to life and having her rise out of the river of the Forgotten City, a temple structure where she died 10 years earlier from Sephiroth's Blade when it impaled her heart.
