Arthur Jean Spindell is a caring and open teenager, who often offers advice and emotional support to his friends. He wants to figure out what happened to Ashley Kent at the school, despite her having been at the school for only a couple of days. He often shares interesting, albeit quite random facts and makes jokes. He's not easily embarrassed and can stand up for himself and his friends, as seen when Mickey gets into a fight with Troy Taylor and Spoon jumps in in his defence.
