Atlas is a centaur, a mythical creature with the upper body of a man and the lower body of a horse. He served the human king of Gherchia, Mekaias the first, for most of his life and became close friends with him. After the King's untimely death, Atlas swore to protect his friend's young son and heir, Mekaias the second. Atlas is in a relationship with a faun named Bea, who is the kingdom's seneschal, and has a teenage son.
