Frey seems to be rude to people she doesn't know, but a lot of people she met in Cipal were also hostile to her first. As the story goes on though, you see points where she lets down her guard and shows a softer side like with Robian, Ophelia, and her interactions with cats. Frey is a modern young woman from New York City who has been in and out of foster homes after being abandoned as an infant in the Holland Tunnel. She is magically transported to Athia.
