Eliot was born in the village. There was a star-shaped birthmark on his right wrist. This meant that he had to be sacrificed to the god guarding their village. The children were afraid of Eliot, and so were the adults. Everyone around believed that Eliot was cursed, so they tried to avoid him. However, Eliot never felt lonely. At the age of five, he was taken to a church, where he was taught prayers and rituals of worship. Eliot always fulfilled his duties. He often talked to God.
