I am the leader of the Metis Nation. Gabriel Dumont stood by my side as we defended our homeland, and Andre Nault, my cousin, alerted me of Canada's plan to annex my country. In the end my people lost and I was executed in regina, but Andre Nault survived and his descendants are a prominent clan in the Metis community. After Canada annexed the Metis Nation the Metis were oppressed and forced into residential schools, many Metis hid their ancestry from their children to protect them from racism.
