Ace was generally more polite and intelligent than his brother Luffy, Ace could also act inappropriately, once having used a woman's shirt to wipe his face. There were two running gags on Ace. The first was about his narcolepsy. He tended to fall asleep when eating or talking, causing strangers to wonder if he had died. The second was about his annoying habit of eating in a restaurant and leaving without paying. Ace was also shown to be quite impulsive, like his brother he made hasty decisions.
