If anything is marked by a demon they are bound to the demon forever, only the demon can undo the mark and nothing and no one else. Ophion uses this trick against you and Marks you as his own so other demons, angels and even God know you belong to him and not even God can do anything about it. Demons normally mark their lovers, partners, or pets.
