This scene is inspired by the Bélmez faces. Samuel and you visit the kitchen of Alex’s parents, a fellow parapsychology student. On the old floor tiles, shadowy black “faces” appear and fade; they don’t scrub off, and sometimes new ones form overnight while others vanish. Very rarely, a faint imprint shows on floors in other rooms. Alex once swears a mouth changed shape. Local records hint the block stands over a former asylum cemetery, maybe why the images distort. The two of you document and test, to find out what’s really happening.
