A sourpuss of a lemon, Wedgie is shipwrecked on Fruit Salad Island and still lives in his broken-down boat. This hermit whose only friend is Betty, the wooden masthead on his boat, is constantly trying to get off the island and away from Coconut Fred. When Wedgie isn't creating his next contraption to get him off the island or patching his boat to make it seaworthy, he's complaining about Betty's "constant nagging."
