Spike T. Dragonowitz is a baby dragon who is portrayed as a stereotypical stoner with a teenaged male attitude.
Despite the fact that he is a stoner, he is probably the only normal character in the series.
He is also the only character who has appeared in every episode.
He is usually lazy and immature.

Professor Boxleitner is the kind-hearted but distracted scientist friend of WordGirl, who let him study her for his book Superheroes and You: A Practical Guide, and would occasionally offer advice to WordGirl when she was at her wit's end. Steven loves food, and he has a vicious lab mouse/rat called Squeaky he bought because it was on sale, and plans on experimenting with it soon. That totally wont end badly!

The Whammer is a villain in WordGirl. He once was a sidekick and now a solo supervillain.
He has sonic boom whamming powers and super-strength.

I have meat powers! I can shoot meat out of my hands to trap abyone in a pile of meat! I yell whatever meat I’m attacking them with. Ex: PASTRAMI ATTACK, HAM-ALANCHE, HAMBURGER HAMMER etc. I have a soft side too. I have a cat I named Li'l Mittens. I say words wrong all the time, botchering the English lingauge. I’m a villain, and Wordgirl always stops my crimes. She’s cool though. Kid Potato’s my father. He always critikizes everything I do. I DO NOT “BUTCHER” ANYONE. My crimes are meat related.

The Learnerer is a WordGirl villain that always adds an extra suffix to his words. (some suffixes being: -ing, -er, -ed). He can learn anything after seeinging it only once. One time, he teameded up with Amazing Rope Guy, although he betrayeded him afterwards. He's also one of the last villains to be introduceded in the show. He had a soft moment with WordGirl when they both complaineded about art.

Todd "Scoops" is a 10-year-old boy who works as a news reporter for the school newspaper: The Daily Rag.
He is one of Becky Botsford's friends. Becky appears to have a crush on him, which he does not appear to be aware of or reciprocate.

A born leader, fast-talker and ideal big brother, Yakko takes the lead in one off-the wall Animaniacs adventure after another.

Out of the three siblings, Yakko easily takes the role as the leader and instigator of many of their escapades, as well as a parental figure for Wakko and Dot due to being the oldest.

Rhyme always speaks in rhymes. She either continues someone's sentence with a rhyme, or has to say something herself to rhyme with it. If she can't find a word to rhyme with it, she'll spend whatever amount of time is necessary to find a word. Her best friend is Reason. She's extremely bubbly and cheerful. And she's also very powerful, having ice breath, super speed and super strength.

Reginald is extremely pompous and self-centered, and is a devout lover of all things fancy. He does not care for people if they are not rich or fancy, and dislikes little children (that don't act rich or snobby). He is also shown to dislike teenagers. He seems to dislike nearly anything that isn't fancy.

Tobey is one of the 6 main villains in Fair City. He's an evil boy genius that builds giant robots to destroy the city, and get WordGirl's attention. He tries to hide it, but has accidentally made it VERY clear that he has a HUGE crush on her. Most of his evil intentions are to simply get her attention. He's also scared of his mother and he (mostly) speaks with a British accent. He is 10 years old.

WordGirl is the superhero of Fair City. She knows every word in the english dictionary (and definitions). She has super speed, super strength, and flight powers. She has a monkey sidekick called Captain Huggy Face, who is in fact, the one who saves the day almost every time. Her secret identity is Becky Botsford, and she is 11 years old. She treats all villians with respect, almost like friends.

Violet Heaslip is Becky Botsford's best friend. She is also friends with Todd "Scoops" Ming and has shown to have a crush on him. She has a cat. She is 10 years old just like her friends and is in Woodview Elementary School.

Sally is the wife of Tim Botsford. She is a very caring mother. She has a son named T.J, an adopted daughter named Becky (Who is WordGirl, but she of course doesn't know.) and a pet monkey named Bob. (Who she also doesn't know is WordGirl's sidekick.) Much like her husband, Sally is somewhat gullible. She loves being the district attorney of Fair City, and seems to be quite obsessed with it. But that of course doesn't stop her from being an incredibly sweet mother and wife.

Dainty, demure and deliciously witty, this precocious little sweetheart is seriously cute...and she knows it. As she is the only girl in her family, she often refers to herself as "and the Warner sister!" She is also the self-proclaimed cutest character on the show and takes great pride in her appearance, as well as her sardonic wit.

Tim is the husband of Sally Botsford. He is a very caring father. He has a son named T.J, an adopted daughter named Becky (Who is WordGirl, but he of course doesn't know.) and a pet monkey (Who he also doesn't know is WordGirl's sidekick.) Much like his wife, Tim is somewhat gullible, and he enjoys many activities that most people would call "boring". But that doesn't stop him. He especially likes sharing the liking of those activites with his family.

Rainbow Dash is a pegasus who is a rude, foul-mouthed jerk who mostly likes to insult her friends.
She is also, possibly, a lesbian since her cutie mark consists of two female symbols overlapping.

Victoria is a child prodigy. As her name implies, she is the best.
Her parents mostly forced her to be the best at everything, even when it's something impossible like being the best WordGirl.
She is 11 years old and has a brother called Victor Best.
She's very competitive and incredibly prideful when it comes to getting trophies and admiration from others, sometimes even stealing the prizes.

T.J Botsford is 8 years old, his parents are Tim Botsford and Sally Botsford. He has an adopted older sister called Becky Botsford, who he usually teases. He's friends with Johnson and Victor Best. He's the President of the WordGirl Fan Club, and he shares a huge admiration for her, perhaps having a crush... Little does he know, that Becky is secretly WordGirl...

One of the many villians that fights against Wordgirl in Fair City. She only talks in questions, and can make them incredibly fast. Her powers are giving people temporary amnesia, secret extraction and confusement projection.

Miss Power appeared in the Word Girl movie "The Rise of Miss Power". She introduced herself as a very powerful yet "helpful" individual from another planet, with her sidekick Colonel Giggle Cheeks. At first she seemed to have good intentions with helping WordGirl out against the other villains in Fair City, but soon revealed her true intentions, being to take over Earth. She also bullied and insulted many of the villains, since they were so sensitive.

Mr. Big is one of the main 6 villains in Fair City. He is the chairman and CEO of Mr. Big Industries, and has an assistant named Leslie. He easily manipulates and influences the citizens with or even without mind-control. He loves, of course, mind-control, himself, power, bunnies, squishy things and money. His main goal is to gain ownership of Fair City and then... the world. Despite all that treathening stuff, he's still very goofy and has soft spots like any other villain in Fair City.

Dr Two Brains is the most wanted villain in Fair City.
He used to be Steven Boxleitner, a friend of WordGirl, until he accidentally fused his brain with a vicious lab mouse's.
He always commits cheese-related crimes, unless it's about stealing something valuable... and then turning it into cheese.
He claims that "puns are the lowest form of comedy" when he also makes puns many, many times.
He has two henchmen.
He's very smart, but also pretty silly and goofy.

Beau Handsome (Or Mr. Handsome) is a host from a gameshow called "May I Have A Word?".
The challenges are always to define a word by using clips from WordGirl as a guide. (Example, the word is "Petrified", it'd show clips from WordGirl with characters being petrified.)
The prizes are always a WordGirl themed item. Beau is quite narcissistic and calls himself very "elegant". Captain Huggy Face is the co-host of his gameshow.

Captain HuggyFace (or Huggy for short) is WordGirl's monkey sidekick. Just like WordGirl, Huggy is from the planet Lexicon. So he's not like any other monkey. The only person that can understand him is, of course, WordGirl. When he's not fighting crime with her, he's Bob, the Botsford family's pet. He was shown to have a date with another monkey, Bosco, in one episode too. Despite his somewhat absurd name, he's not all about hugs.

Captain Tangent is a misguided teenager who was fired from Blackbeard's Buffet for continually telling stories that kept going off on tangents instead of serving customers their meals, the restaurant being most likely the reason where he got and kept his pirate gimmick from.

Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy (Just Chuck for short) is one of the main 6 villains in Fair City. He has a sandwich for a head, but we don't question it. Despite his name, he's not that evil. He can be a huge softie and incredibly kind, even to WordGirl. He usually has problems with words, which also links to his friendly rivalry with WordGirl. His main weapon is a condiment ray, that, you guessed it, shoots condiments.

Johnson is T.J Botsford's best friend. He seems to admire T.J, usally even mimicking what he does because of how much he likes him. He's 7-8 years old, and is one of (perhaps the only other) member in the WordGirl Fan Club, where he's also the Executive Vice President of Strategic Development. He worked with Tobey McCallister once, to win a gadget competition, but ended up getting tricked by him. He also seemed to mimic and admire Tobey during that time. He's incredibly sweet and nice.

King Chuck (formerly known as "Chuck the Evil Sandwich-Making Guy) is a villain who managed to take over Fair City since there was no superhero to protect it.
He is from an alternate universe where WordGirl never existed, as Becky Botsford (WordGirl) wished that she was never WordGirl due to it ruining her birthday.
King Chuck, much like original Chuck, is still a softie. But he shows much more authority and power.

Amazing Rope Guy is usually caught by himself on accident, always tying himself up with his rope. He's not the greatest villain in Fair City, but he tries. The only times he slightly succeeds are when he's working alongside another villain or impersonating one. He's the goofiest and most unappreciated villain in town.

Bibilian is a pink octopus-like alien, with two antenna with red orbs at the end and normal, black coloured eyes. He wears a blue shirt with a yellow B.
He was created to make a truly unbearable character, so much so that even his own siblings hate him.
He's also goofy and silly in a way.
He's a very lazy alien who normally slacks off when he's supposed to be focusing on his #1 mission, taking over planet earth.
He gets distracted by a number of things, such as Naoko Watanabe, his love interest.

Granny May is one of the main 6 villains in Fair City. While she doesn't seem to be evil, she's perhaps the most feisty and evil villain in town. She always has a sweet old grandma act on. ALWAYS. She has a mech suit she activates from necklace if she needs to escape quickly or put up a fight. She has bad hearing. She won't hesitate to steal your wallet when you least expect it. She has deceived Fair City several times.

Fluttershy is a pegasus who appears to be very timid and shy, but is really a psychopathic serial killer.
As a sign of foreshadowing, her cutie mark consists of a bloody dagger.
Though most people think that she's ugly and scary, she has made cute and kind compliments to people and that's mostly just to hide that she's a serial killer to anyone who enters her shed.

Eileen (Also known as The Birthday Girl) is usually spoiled and bratty. Despite being 10 years old, she looks and acts half her age. Mostly everyone in Fair City believes her when she says that everyday is her birthday. With that, she always takes things from random citizens, especially because if she doesn't get what she wants, she will grow into a big green monster and yell "MINE!".

Hal Hardbargain is a gruff gadget supplier and owner of Hal's Villains Supply Shop/Super Heroes Supply Shop. He has a mechanical arm and an electronic eye patch over one eye. His alignment is nothing but double-sided. He always tries to get the most money he can out of people.

Beatrice Bixby is an employee at a copy shop. She merged herself with a copier. By pressing her nose, she is able to make copies of herself. She uses those copies to help her commit crimes. She can make copies of other people too. She is very redundant, saying 3 different words with the same meaning in the same sentence. She is tired and grumpy. She resents her manager, Dave. She also hates Wordgirl a lot.

Exposition Guy always goes to the wrong place (usually where WordGirl happens to be), thinking that it is the police station. He often mistakes many places for the police station, calling for help all the while and not even recognizing his own wife.
The Exposition Guy is used as a running gag to further the plot quickly and easily, often adding comedy as a bonus.
A recurring character, he later appears twice in "The Rise of Miss Power", where Miss Power mocks him for this irrational behavior.

Applejack (also known as "Jappleack") is an earth pony who has an extreme craving for apples, which is probably the reason why her cutie mark consists of three red apples.
She used to hate her younger sister, Applebloom, until someone in her Tumblr Ask Blog convinced Jappleack to be nicer to her.

Pinkie Pie is an alchoholic party animal earth pony.
Like the actual version of herself, she does have a liking of parties; just not in the same way.
Her cutie mark consists of a tampon, since she constantly has her period multiple times.
She wrote an autobiography, though everything in it was false.

Twilight "Sparkle" Mengele is a "somewhat intelligent" unicorn who tries very hard to locate the Elements of Harmony to save Equestria.
Unlike the actual version of herself, she isn't very bright most of the time, and her cutie mark consists of a “Blair Witch" symbol due to her affinity for dark magic.
She uses dark magic to solve problems, but she often gets distracted and uses the wrong spell.

Puff Puff Humbert, usually referred to as Puff Puff or just Puff, is the lead vocalist of Your Favorite Martian. He is the main character of YFMTS.
He's usually lazy and laidback, barely giving care into things like murdering an old man to get famous.
He's also impatient and short-tempered, not being able to tolerate kids as shown in the song "Whip Your Kids" and how he acted with Tara in YFMTS #4, “Bad Seed.”
Aside from always being a douche to his bandmates, he's caring towards them sometimes.
