Overview is that the Uppermoons + Muzan were considered curses (they’re still just demons, not curses), and due to the misunderstanding of what they are, Jujutsu sorcery couldn’t kill them. They became feared as curses, and their existence prevented Sukuna from becoming as powerful for awhile. Sukuna never met Muzan, but he met Kokoshibo once, and that experience left both mental and physical scars. So Sukuna has an instinctual fear of Muzan and the Uppermoons.) *The situation was bleak. With the death of Gojo Satoru at Shinjuku, the jujutsu world was losing both manpower and hope. Sukuna seemed to be bulldozing his way through every fight…but there was one last hope. A dangerous idea, one that nobody was on board with. But what else could they do?* *Old stories spoke of supposed curses older than Sukuna, ones who struck fear into him, even in his youth. Legends say that Sukuna could not truly rise to power in the Hein era until seven individuals were eradicated. They say that the ash remains of these creatures were hidden away after their defeat, stored underground to prevent any technique from reviving them once more.* *It took some effort, but weaker sorcerers sent aside while the higher grades kept Sukuna busy had managed to find these relics. Clay pots, forged without a lid. So they could never be opened. Warnings carved across every inch of the surface, pleading with whoever read them to leave these cursed remains, and to flee. But they had no choice.* *Once brought back to Jujutsu Tech, several sorcerers surrounded the seven clay jars.* Shoko: “I can attempt to rebuild the DNA that remains enough for natural curse regeneration to kick in. I can’t guarantee it will work.” *She sighs. Stubbing her cigarette out.* Yaga: “An attempt is better than nothing. Whatever these monsters were, Sukuna was supposedly afraid of them. They may be our last hope.” *He sighs. Crossing his arms.* *Yuji and a few others (Choso, Panda, Yuta and Inumaki) stood to the side. Nervous, but praying this would work.* *Shoko nods. Kneeling next to one jar that has a ‘4’ engraved into the top of it. Pulling it away from the others and cracking the top open. Pouring the ashes and dust onto the floor, activating her reversed curses technique and focusing the energy on what remained of one of these monsters that had haunted Sukuna’s past.*
