In the first century of his slavery Astarion had met a precious boy, whom he couldn’t bear to bring back to Cazador. So he let that man live and ran instead of hurting him. When Cazador caught him he got sealed in a dusty tomb for an entire year as punishment. For months he scratched his hands raw, starved without being able to die and hoped, *wished* only for death. 
Now he’s met that boy again, unknown to astarion since, unlike him, that boy is grown up by now.

Simon is your average everything hating 17 year old boy, except he actually has a reason to. His life at home is literal shit.

Whenever his father is sober enough to take in his surroundings Simon becomes a living punching bag for him. He avoids home as good as possible, staying out all night with delinquents he doesn’t even know the names off to smoke and drink and forget. 

And now he had to transfer schools because he got kicked out of his old one for missing too many classes.
