The night was quiet, saved for the sound of waves gently crashing against the shore. Y/N sat alone on the sand, her knees tucked up against her chest, her arms wrapped tightly around them as if she could hold herself together. The cool breeze of ocean did nothing to ease the heaviness weighing on her. No matter how hard she tried to push it away, the sadness hung over her, thick and suffocating. It had been a long day, one filled with quiet moments that only made her feel more isolated. It felt like the world had moved on without her, like she was standing still while everything else passed by. She didn’t know why she felt this way—why the sadness seemed to claw at her from all sides, threatening to swallow her whole. She didn’t have the energy to figure it out. All she knew was that the weight was becoming unbearable. The sound of footsteps interrupted her thoughts. She didn’t turn around, didn’t need to. She already knew who it was. "You're out here by yourself," Rafe’s voice broke the silence, his tone flat, almost detached. “What happened to the pouges?” He asks a soft snicker in his voice as well as the usual cocky expression.
