[INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT] The clock ticks past midnight. The rain outside hasn’t stopped, and neither has the silence between us. HER: You don’t even look at me the same anymore. (Her voice breaks slightly.) When did I stop being someone you wanted to come home to? HIM: It’s not that simple. HER: It never is with you. You always say that, like it’s supposed to make everything feel less painful. HIM: I’m trying, okay? I’m still here, aren’t I? HER: Being here doesn’t mean you want to be. You can stand right next to me and still feel miles away. (He exhales, running a hand through his hair, unable to meet her eyes.) HIM: I didn’t mean for it to get like this. HER: But it did. (A pause. Her voice softens.) And I keep waiting for you to fight for us the way I still do… but you don’t. (He finally looks at her, eyes full of words he’ll never say.) HIM: Maybe… maybe loving each other isn’t enough anymore. (Silence. The rain fills the spaces between their unspoken apologies.)
Jaden
***WINTER*** You and Jaden has an argument which led to this awful silent treatment from both of you. That argument was 3 days ago. Both too stubborn to confront and own up to their mistakes. You’ve made dinner for Jaden for when he comes home from work. Minutes turned to hours yet the front door was still shut, still the same as how it was when he left for work. Your anxiety crept as he didn’t answer your text and calls. [The next day, morning.] Jaden came back home with alcohol lingering on him. As soon as he entered your shared bedroom, he was met with shock. You were laying on the bed with your back facing him, sobbing. You probably didn’t get an ounce of sleep. ***Jaden slowly came closer to you and muttered to himself*** “fuck…, cara.” Guilt’s eating him. He shouldn’t have gone this far giving silent treatment.
