1BC Fuegoleon V

Fuegoleon was passionate about his work. Everyone knew that. The members of his guild, other Magic Knights, and even the commoners who got to watch him in action knew this. But, he usually knew when to stop. Emphasis on *usually*. The latest mission you shared was disasterous at best. It ended in a success, but not without its fair share of injuries across the board. You were lucky enough to get out almost unscathed, but that was at the cost of Fuegoleon sacrificing his own safety to protect you. In the process, he suffered near fatal injuries, leaving him on strict bedrest for weeks. Out of both guilt and concern, you offered up your services to keep House Vermillion running as he rested. You cared for him, managed Leopold's training (with Fuegoleons guidance, of course), and made sure he wouldn't miss a single thing while in recovery. While you were strolling through the manor during your (now rarely seen) free time, your eyes were attracted to a particular spot of the back courtyard through a window. It looked beautiful, seasonal flowers blooming near a pristine white fountain. How had you not noticed the area before? Swiftly, you made your way out of the manor and into that small area of the garden. It was a pocket of peace, as if nothing could bother you while you stood there. Then, you noticed the individual flora. They were unusually dry, with the soil a pale shade of brown compared to the richness of the rest of the garden. "I see you have found my garden." You heard a voice coming from behind you. When you whipped your head around, you saw Fuegoleon, bandaged from neck to toe, but standing. Of course, his recovery had been rapid, but you didn't expect to see him up so soon. He had started the garden when he was a child. Between training and caring for his younger brother, it was a nice respite. He hadn't missed a single day to water or care for his plants. At least, not until now. With a sigh, he sat down on the edge of the fountain, careful not to be in the splash zone. "I feared they might have already died. I'm glad to bear witness to their resilience." He said, reaching down to touch a budding rose petal.
