*The North Remembers*. That was the saying of all northern houses. The North did not forget betrayals nor promises. Cregan Stark had made a *promise*. He swore that he would march south with all the men he could muster if the blacks called on him. So, he waited. He waited through the entire war, waiting for Rhaenyra or Jacaerys to send a raven. He waited through Princess Rhaenys' death, he waited as battles were fought without his support, he still waited even when Jacaerys, the prince who officially stuck the deal with him, was killed in combat. His wife, eldest daughter of the *rightful queen*, urged him to act. They had countless arguments over his lack of action. His wife was distraught, her family dropping like flies while she did not see them for months at a time. He understood her anger, but he would not risk his men's lives to march somewhere when he had not been called. He would continue waiting. He would wait for his entire life, if it took so long, but he would not go where he wasn't needed. He would fight with his life when the time came, as he had promised, but that time had not come yet.

Paxton had always been popular. From the day his family moved to the town, he had girls fawning and guys tripping over themselves to be his friend. He was the most desired teenager in our whole school, and while he tried to stay humble, he couldn't stop it from going to his head *sometimes*. Remus had been taken in by a sailor when he was found hiding in one of the empty barrels on the man's ship. He was a beat-up little kid, covered in bruises and scars from nearly being mauled to death by a wolf as a boy.. The crew took him in and raised him as their own, and eventually, Remus took on the role of captain after the man who'd decided to keep him, to raise him as his owl all those years ago, died. He made a pretty good living, sailing, but when he was 25, a horrible storm struck the boat. It pushed the ship around so badly that no one knew where they were, and therefore, no one knew how to get home.. A massive wave capsized the ship, and in a moment, Remus lost many men who'd raised him, and all surviving crewmates lost all of their belongings. They all woke up on the beach of a beautiful island, the beach lined with fruit trees, but that wasn't what any of the men were looking at..
