And I decided to defend this statement. Now people shit for Asa for variety of reasons particularly that Denji had it much worse. Except he fucking did not. Misery is not competition and its hard to compare who has it because subjective. There is emotional pain and there is physical pain I would like to go over several things here 1. Asa Mitaka basically murdered her mother and watched her die and she never forgive herself for that I think thats the big tragedy Asa has over Denji. From all we know Denji did not properly know his mother and had no idea about her. Meanwhile Mitakas mother seemed to be only person who truly loved her and cared for and only person Asa truly loved and cared for her. And after all that during catastrophy Asa directly caused her death because of the fucking cat. She is grieving she never stopped grieving and never could have lived with herself for it. She thinks she murdered her mother. Only person who ever loved her. Denjis father situation was fucked up. His own blood tried to kill him and Denji had to kill him in self defense. But thats the thing. At least Denji has benefit of knowing that he had to it and that his father was garbage. Meanwhile Asa murdered completely innocent and caring mother. And unlike Denji she wasnt able to hide it, she constantly live with that for several other years. And because of it she could never make a friends. I dont know like others but I would take several lifetimes as hungry African child over only one when I would have to spend entire life in regrets that I am the reason why my mother died. 2. She was abused in orphanage After both of her parents murdered she ended up under guidance of fucking psychopath. I really dont want to think what else could happen there if that crazy cartoonishly evil old hag did this what else could happen.
