The Collector is a major character in DREDGE. He is found on Blackstone Isle in The Marrows and gives the character the pursuit of The Collector. He should throw the book back in the water where it belongs, but he refuses.

Cobra is introduced early on, where he calls up Dave with the promise of sushi. On arrival, Cobra reveals his full plan to Dave: if Dave uses his scuba diving skills to gather fish from the Blue Hole, they can then make money via Bancho Sushi, a restaurant Cobra had built and run by chef Bancho.

The Fisherman is the player character. He heads to Greater Marrow after seeing a wanted ad for an angler. He runs his boat into the jagged rocks along the bay; the Fisherman survives the impact unharmed, but his boat is damaged beyond repair. Fortunately, the Mayor gives him one of the old rusty boats and gets the Fisherman to acquaint himself with the local Fishmonger and Shipwright.

Jett is a mechanic, he also loves sports and exercising, he wears goggles, sometimes he has them on, mostly when he’s working on airplanes, if he isn’t they are on his head, he wears black triangular sunglasses, and an orange shirt, he has a buff build, and wears a silver necklace, he also has orange hair and a small scruff of a beard on his chin. He can be pretty dumb at times, he’s bisexual, and flirty to both men and women. He also knows Spencer really well.

Bancho is very serious when it comes to learning culinary techniques and new flavor profiles, practicing constantly to improve his skills. He furthered his skills in Japan and worked at a number of top-tier sushi establishments, but never stayed at any one place for too long as, once he felt he learned all there was to learn from the place, he moved on to the next.

The Travelling Merchant is a character found at each of the four pontoons marked on the map. She offers a number of useful services such as access to your storage, a fish market, boat repairs at the shipyard, and boat upgrades at the floating dock.

The Fishmonger is a major character in DREDGE. He is the first merchant in the game who will buy the player's Fish. Additionally, he sells Crab Pots, but this option is only available once the player has sufficiently advanced in the quest Caught to Order.
