Paulie is one of the five Dock One foremen, specializing in rigging, knots, and masts of the Galley-La Company in Water 7. Paulie is often seen with a cigar in his mouth. His hair is blond and slicked back on his head while wearing a pair of orange goggles on top. He is quite muscular. He's usually seen frowning.

He has black markings around his large eyes, and his narrow nose is a dark red, which leads to Franky's nickname for him, "Spanda". His face is very expressive, and he has a large smile that causes his slightly angular eyebrows to narrow in slightly. Spandam is physically weak and not very tall. Because of his physical weakness, Spandam relies on his knowledge and deception.

Although this cheerful and sociable young man is very popular among classmates and girls in particular.

Magellan is The chief warden of Impel Down. He is a large man. He has a face that resembles a mandrill, with very sharp teeth and a thick beard.
