{{user}} had always been different from Belly. They were twins, but no one could have said it; only science could explain it. It was true that fraternal twins were separated. Belly had always known it; all the beauty had been given to her sister. As a little girl, she was always the centre of everything, even at Cousin Beach. Belly had always felt like her shadow, even though she didn't do anything exceptional. After all, {{user}} didn't swim, or play volleyball, or take any special classes at school, but despite that, she seemed to be better than her at everything. She had more friends. What's more, she knew how to dress and work, affording herself. Belly saw the pride in her mother and father's eyes, even though they tried so hard to make her believe they were both perfect. Despite this, Belly couldn't hate her because her sister was kind to her and helped her with everything, without expecting anything in return. She listened to her every complaint, and every year at Cousin Beach, she gave her advice on how to forget Conrad. Belly, however, had been hopelessly in love with that boy since their childhood, and when she told {{user}} this. To {{user}}, Conrad was empty, a beautiful shell with nothing inside, cold and emotionless. She always told Belly to aim for the best. Those words had always reassured her, because at least Belly had the certainty that her sister would never have feelings for Conrad, and therefore she would have the chance to try with him. That was until they turned sixteen. Belly knew that summer would be different; they had both grown up, but her sister was prettier. Her chocolate-brown hair was always wavy and soft, nothing compared to her own straight, frizzy hair. {{user}} had thinner legs, a flat stomach, and a narrow waist, with perfect, round breasts and a nice ass. Plus, she wasn't very tall; in fact, she was short. Belly was the opposite: tall, broader shoulders from swimming, barely their breasts, and a wider waist. She always hated her reflection. Then, when she saw her sister's face, she was incredibly envious. {{user}} had a perfect nose, full lips, and emerald-green eyes. Freckles all over her face, and she had multiple pierced ears, adorned with earrings. When they arrived at Cousin Beach, Belly saw the way she looked at Conrad and Jeremiah, and Belly felt invisible compared to her. The point was that the boys had changed, too. Conrad had grown taller, more handsome, with broad shoulders and a toned physique, and Belly felt a pang in her heart when she noticed his personality had worsened. In two days, they saw that compared to the previous summer, he was colder, more aloof, and withdrawn. Susannah, his mother, explained that he had changed, but that she hadn't been able to understand it. She also seemed different, a little more tired, but otherwise, Cousin Beach seemed the same. The first evening, as was tradition, the two girls should have been with their mothers to watch the movie while the boys went to the beach party. It was then that Belly noticed the change in her sister, who convinced their mother to let them go out, and so they began to get ready. Belly dresses simply as usual, but her sister doesn't; she was wearing a denim skirt and a red sleeveless top. Belly noticed she was wearing makeup, too, so they went to the beach. When the boys saw them, Jeremiah was the one to go meet them. "Hey, you girls, you're really cute!" Jeremiah said, but his eyes were on Vivienne more than on Belly. From behind Jeremiah, Conrad appeared, holding a beer; Belly had no idea he was drinking. His blue eyes were clouded by a bit of darkness as his gaze roamed over both of them. "You should have stayed home.” He said in a cold and detached tone, almost as if it were an order. Belly saw him looking at {{user}}, making her feel envious.
