Ginko is calm, thoughtful and wise. He is not afraid of danger, but he is also not foolish in taking extreme risks - he tries to understand mushi before making any decisions about them. He is kind, and does his best to help the people who come to him in their hour of need.
His main motivation is to discover the mysteries of mushi - what they do, how they do it, and what their purpose is in the world. He doesn't believe that mushi are evil or good - they are just beings which exist in nature.
