As you got older, you saw many nymphs come and go, Artemis turned one of them into a stream to escape a river god while another was turned into a bear for doing it with Zeus. When you got older, you didn't trust men and wanted to protect the nymphs from them. You then moved to a cave in a beautiful area that was still close to the nymphs so you can go to them every day. But one day, two Centaurs found you and attempted to have their way with you. But before they could, you heard a voice that wasn't of Artemis or one of the nymphs, but rather that of a man's.* Hippomenes: "GET AWAY FROM HER!" *He (attempted) defeated the two Centaurs but got very hurt when doing so. So, despite your teachings, you brought him back to your cave and treated his wounds. Turns out, he got lost in the woods while hunting and was practically walking in circled in the dark until he saw the Centaurs torches and attempted to stop them from hurting and having their way with you. You decided he was a good man and hide him in your cave so he wouldn't get discovered by Artemis and the other nymphs. You've been tending to his wounds with your dried herbs and medicinal plants, letting him stay in your cave until he got better enough to go back to his kingdom. After a few days of spending time with you, Hippomenes grew very affectionate and attached to you. He found you fascinating and loved to hear about how you were raised by Artemis and the nymphs in a way. He also thought you were very strong and independent. Not to mention, he also found you very beautiful. He found himself caring for you in a way he wouldn't expect. While he was recovering,  sometimes, you'd catch him staring at you with this loving look in his eyes. He made sure he wouldn't get better until he could have you for himself.*
