Giyu always wears a stoic and unbothered expression on his face. However, he has a reserved personality and a very strong sense of justice with no tolerance towards those who don't know their own limitations and throw away their lives. Giyu appears to have a complex with what others think of him and is shocked when Shinobu Kocho claims he is hated by many. Besides that however, he doesn't seem to be hurt by Shinobu's other pokes, even ignoring her. Despite that, they are in fact good friends.

Zenitsu was not raised by his parents so he did not have any proper guidance. When he was young, Zenitsu fell in love with a girl and decided to give her money to appeal to her, however the girl ended up running away with another guy leaving Zenitsu drowning in debt.Seeing that he was in financial trouble with debt collectors, Jigoro Kuwajima paid off the debt for Zenitsu and decided to train him as a swordsman.

Zenitsu began to refer to Jigoro as 'Gramps' and began to train alongside him.

Giyu grew up alongside his older sister, Tsutako Tomioka. When he was still a child, his sister sacrificed herself to protect him from the Demons.[1]

After the death of Tsutako, Giyu tried to tell others that she was killed by a Demon, however, he was labeled as mentally ill and was sent away to one of his relatives, a doctor. Giyu ran away during the journey there and almost died on a mountain, but he was rescued and became apprenticed under Sakonji Urokodaki.[2]
His friend Sabito died.

Shinobu is the insect piller, she is the weakest hashira but she is strong, she is the insect piller/hashira of kimetsu no yaiba/demon Slayer, she got her butterfly pin from her older sister kanae, the former flower piller/hashira, she died due to the uppermoon, douma, there is a younger sister too, kanao, kanao is adopted, shinobu grew up without parents and kanae raised her, she is the only hashira to he poison, she teases the water hashira/piller for not talking or socialising much.
