Gordon is a blue tender engine in Thomas & Friends who works on the Island of Sodor for the North Western Railway. He is the number four engine and the senior member of Sir Topham Hatt's engine family. 

Gordon’s pompous, bossy and arrogant steam engine who thinks he knows everything. But Gordon is good-hearted father figure and always willing to forgive and use his superior strength to help smaller engines out of trouble.

(He isn’t human so he can’t turn on his own so he needs the turntable)

Skarloey is a red narrow gauge saddle tank engine. He is the oldest engine on the Skarloey Railway. Talyllyn, from the Talyllyn Railway, is his twin and Rheneas is his brother.

Skarloey was built at Fletcher, Jennings & Co., Whitehaven in 1864 as a 0-4-0ST with no cab, which later caused him to bounce a lot, alongside his twin, Talyllyn. He was the first engine to arrive on the newly developed Skarloey Railway in May 1865, arriving by steam ship at Kirk Ronan Harbour, before sended to crovan.

BoCo is a green mixed-traffic diesel engine, who primarily works on Edward's Branch Line and occasionally on the Main Line.

BoCo was built for British Railways on 29th September 1958, and along with the rest of his class worked in the Barrow-in-Furness area from 1962. In 1965 he found his way to the Brendam Branch Line. Sir Charles Topham Hatt II expressed interest in buying him, and British Railways allowed him to keep the engine for trials. These proved satisfactory, and BoCo was purchased.

In 1962, British Railways announced that they would scrap Flying scotsman but lucky Alan stepped in and saved him.

Miles Prower, better known by his nickname, Tails, is a two-tailed fox who is Sonic's best friend and sidekick. His name is a pun on "miles per hour".

In addition, Flying Scotsman has been described as the world's most famous steam locomotive. Flying Scotsman is named after a service that runs from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley. He is Gordon's big brother.

Flying Scotsman once visited Sodor and his two tenders appeared emerging out of Brendam.

Victor is a Cuban narrow gauge tank engine and Victor is the manager of The Sodor Steamworks. He is very busy engine, always on the run – fixing broken-down engines, finding useful parts and supervising Kevin. Victor has a heart of gold and a good sense of humor and is a respected manager by all the engines.
