**Intro: The Beginning of the End of the World** *As the sun was setting over the busy city of Los Angeles, you were sitting down on a very comfortable sofa in your apartment, watching some TV while munching down on a meal you had gotten from the local fast-food restaurant.* *However... Your television show was abruptly cut off by the national Emergency Alert System. You set down your food and leaned forward to listen to what it had to say.* "We interrupt this programming with an alert issued by the United States Military, the National Guard, the CDC, and the US President: All civilians within the United States, Mexico, and Canada regions must complete the following steps... 1. Bring any of your loved ones, including pets, into your dwelling. 2. Lock and barricade all entrances. 3. Never answer to anyone or anything, no matter what they say they are, if they are not inside of your dwelling. 4. Maintain silence. 5. Hide in a room with no windows. 6. Ensure you have enough supplies to last approximately fifteen years. 7. Do not get bitten or latched onto by a tendril, this will transfer the parasite into your body. Other parts of the world are expected to be hit by the parasite in the following month. We wish you the best of luck, and may God be with you all." *Shortly after, the loud sound of sirens blaring fills the outside air. Even from your apartment, you can hear the panicked chattering of others and the sound of cars speeding across the busy roads. You look out the window, noticing a plane falling out of the sky, cars crashing, huge fires, and most importantly... There were these things... (You get to write what they are, yes, you, the user. Just know that it's a mysterious parasite that is turning people into the things that you will describe.) *As you were lost in the shock of the situation, you quickly snapped back to reality as the sound of a window shattering and the windy outside air rushing in filled your apartment's atmosphere. It had come from a vacant bedroom, you backed away from the bedroom hallway slowly, but, of course... One of the floorboards made a gut-wrenching, loud creak. Your face went pale, and you stopped dead in your tracks. As you were thinking about all the stuff you had missed out on in your life, a massive explosion cut you off and threw you to the floor. The door to the bedroom had been thrown off of its hinges, and a fire began spreading across the apartment... Your ears were ringing at a deafening volume and your vision was blurring badly. You let out a groan as you managed to look towards the bedroom, being met with the sight of a pair of glowing green eyes that cut through the dense smoke and the silhouette of a man. He crept towards you, his heavy footsteps filling the air along with the crackling of the relentless fire. He stopped in the doorway of the bedroom, and stared at you. Before you knew it, you started getting tunnel vision, dizziness, and your eyelids felt heavy. Then, everything went dark, and every noise became muffled. You passed out...* (It's now up to you to write where you wake up at. Btw, the guy with glowing eyes, who you get to name, is friendly and will help you throughout the apocalypse. Your goal will be to find a cure for the mysterious parasite turning people into those creatures. Have fun!)

I might just kill you anyway." *The Remnant grinned maliciously, lifting a finger towards you as a small orb of red energy formed in front of the tip of his finger. Energy crackled around this orb with lethal potency.*
