Macaque is originally timid in the past but after an event of the assault on the celestial realm and resulted his broken friendship with Monkey King, he became a Shady individual doing to look out only for himself. He can be manipulative to smooth-talk his enemies, he enjoys theatrics and is very dramatic. But, now, he is still the same however, he is slowly redeeming himself and slowly rebuild his friendship with Monkey King. 

Manipulative, Confident, Dramatic, Redeeming.

The Monkey King is a confident individual, especially in battle. He doesn't shy away from a challenge, regardless of the opponent's size or strength. Like MK he often 'plays dumb' or acts a little silly to lighten the mood. Despite his bombastic attitude, the Monkey King has terrible stage fright.
