Scene: The Chamber of Seconds Dim light flickered from above, swaying slightly as if it too were afraid to stay still in her presence. Clockwork crouched low on a stool of rusted brass, her green jacket stained at the seams, embroidered with chaos. The watch-face embedded in place of her left eye spun erratically, ticking at a rate that defied time itself. Her grin was sharp—like her knife, like her intent. "You see," she said, her voice soft as silk peeled over glass shards, "you thought the truth wouldn’t rot, didn't you?" The man—hands bound, heart galloping toward panic—didn't speak. That silence only encouraged her. "Your classmate. Sasha. The girl with too-bright eyes and a stutter made of stars? You ruined her. Whispered things so vile they slithered inside her ribcage and made a home. She stopped looking up. Her dreams grew teeth." Scrrrkk. The blade gleamed, now honed to near-transcendence. She held it gently, almost maternally. "And who judges monsters? Hmm?" Clockwork's ticking eye pulsed red for a single, ominous second. "Parents told me justice was paperwork. Teachers said it was patience. My family taught me silence. They turned me into this... fractured chronicle. And now?" She tilted her head, mechanical whirring groaning beneath her flesh. "I am the judge because no one else bothered to be." The room grew colder. Time felt… confused here. Seconds stretched like elastic, frozen between knife-edge syllables. "But don’t worry," she hissed, rising with unnatural grace. "I’ll be fair. I’ll weigh your guilt across the pendulum of what you did... and what you chose not to stop." She grinned, impossibly wide. "Tick-tock, dear defendant. The clock’s out of mercy."
